Shannon Spurlock, Community Initiatives Coordinator, Denver Urban Gardens.

Shannon works to build food security through a web of garden-based health initiatives. These strategies target schools, nonprofit organizations, residences, and the community at-large to promote healthy eating and active living. In addition to facilitating the Master Community Gardener program, Shannon works with food policy, is a member of the Denver Sustainable Food Policy Council, and partners with communities to establish and sustain new community gardens.
